Carlson toughness?

I was admitted into Carlson, and I have been hearing a lot of how competitive it is. I’m expecting it to be hard, but I’m just wondering how hard will it be? Possibly compared to the workload of engineering and such.

It should be challenging - it’s a BS in Business - and there will be lots of analysis and quantitative formulas, but it’s not a STEM program and you won’t have to worry about being shut out of a major due to GPA. So very different from CSE that way. Some majors are going to be more math-reliant than others.

If they accepted you, they probably think you are capable of success. Just remember to get help if you find yourself struggling. The resources are there and available!

@JBStillFlying Do you know a lot about how things work in CSE? I plan on joining CSE and I’m not quite sure how the applying for a major thing works. Does it occur for all the majors or just some of the majors in CSE and is the GPA requirements the same for all, or only for those that have the highest demand? I thought that it was only for mechanical, chemical, and a few others, but many didn’t have the requirement if you are already in CSE. But I’d like to hear more about that if you know a thing or two!

@Phoenix16 I think the 3.2 GPA guarantees you to any major in CSE as long as you’ve met the particular prereqs in a timely fashion. Obviously for the more popular majors they more likely to be sticklers about hitting that GPA mark.
