How difficult is the Biochemistry program? I plan to eventually go to Medical school and don't want my GPA to drop. I was accepted for Chemistry and Psychology, but was wondering if I should transfer to Biochemistry. I know the major you choose doesn't matter, but on CMU's website there's a list of the Professional schools Biochemistry majors attend and Johns Hopkins (a top medical school) was the medical school that most attend. Should I go into Biochemistry or something easier like Psychology? Is Biochem easier than Chem? Any insight is greatly appreciated! :)

I’m also going to be studying chemistry, maybe I’ll see you around My overnight host was a premed and is a bio and psych major. I think that bio would be better than biochem or chem if you are going the premed route. You can still do either major but I feel that with bio, it would be easier to get your req classes. I think you get priority/reserved spots pertaining to your major. Also, if you’re a chem major it might be hard to fit an anatomy class into your schedule. And when you goto med school, how useful is quantum physical chemistry going to be?
Of course I’m really not the most knowledgable one to be answering this question and what you pursue is up to you. In a handout I got from the chemistry open house I think I saw a few people go on to med school so it is definitely possible.
