I actually have several questions. If you can help me answer them, that would be great.

I heard that the decisions were mailed out last week, but nothing on my status page has changed under the “documents sent.” So I suppose what I want to ask is, did anyone’s stats change?

Under “documents sent (to me)” it says “Teacher Recommendation” on January 2. What does this mean?

I’ll call the admissions office on Monday to see if they can give me some insight, but if someone knows the answer(s) to either/both of the questions, gah, help > < I’m in an anxious/panic mode.

I applied EDII. We are supposed to find out around January 15th whether or not we got in, according to a short correspondence I had with an admissions officer via email. My status has not changed to reflect the sent letter either. I'm going to guess that the Teacher Recommendation was filed under the wrong category, or something, since my status doesn't say anything like that-- but I really don't know, to be honest!

Thank you so much for replying (: That makes me feel a lot better. I'll still call them tomorrow to see if I can get some new information. If I find out something useful, I'll post it.

What the crap? Instead of making a new thread--

I just checked to see if my documents reflected any Teacher Rec thing to help the OP, but they didn't. Instead, mine says "02-jan-2009 Early Decision Notification." Above that in the College Choices status, under "Decision," it says "Accept."

... does this mean what I think it means, since it wasn't there a couple days ago? Or does it just mean they accepted my application for review but never updated that? Can anyone offer some advice here?

I didn't choose UPS, so that would explain why it isn't here yet. My parents are also out of town, so I don't have the key to the mailbox. AGHGHGHH!

This just made my day! I'm the happiest person alive right now! :D ANd congrats to all of you too-- I wager I'll be seeing you around campus in the fall!

It doesnt say anything in the decision box under mine. I should be getting the letter tomorrow, because it takes 3 days for something to get here from pittsburgh.

Im waiting on that deny. (Getting in is too good to be true).

I also got the ED agreement sent on Jan 2 under the Admissions documents sent category. What does this mean? I haven't received anything in the mail yet.

I called Admissions Office today, and the person sounded unsure, but she said that I could disregard it. I'm not sure if it was a mistake or not (since a lot of people seem to be having the same problem), but unfortunately, there probably isn't too much we could do now.

This is roughly how the short conversation went.

Me: I have a questions about EDII. There seemed to be a teacher recommendation sent to me on January 2.
Her: Give me your name, etc. Uhmm long pause we shouldn't have sent anything of that sort to you...
Me: Is it okay to disregard it?
Her: Yes...I think so.

She told me that we should be getting it in the mail on the 15th because it was sent out last week. Even though according Carnegie's policy, it doesn't upload your status online until 3 days afterward, I think they're posting decisions in a rolling fashion.

I'm going to wait for the mail though. Too nerve racking T_T

Yeah, I called today too about the 'ED agreement" that was supposedly sent on the 2nd. The woman asked for my name and pulled up my file I guess and said that they have nothing recorded as sent on the 2nd, but something was sent yesterday. I'm assuming she means my decision letter, and if what everyone has been saying about seeing it online 3 days after they mail it is true then i guess I will be hearing it on the 15th.

I just got my actual hard-copy acceptance letter today in the mail, and it contained an ED Agreement form. Maybe this is what they're referring to?

Accepted. I had low scores, so im completely surprised.

I'm from California. ^^ My stats were okay. My SATs and ACTs were very good (2220 and 32, only took each once) but my GPA was a 3.7 weighted/3.4 UW due to some illness in my sophomore and junior years. However, I really want to design games, and I think that the whole notion of a female game designer is a rare one, which might have gotten me in. That's what I wrote my essay on. CMU really does look past the numbers. :p
