Do any of the aforementioned schools in the title accept ACT instead of SAT. And is ACT looked down upon in these schools? The ACT seems a lot easier to me.

I'm pretty sure all the schools accept ACT now, even if they say they don't (my bro got into schools with ACT scores even when the schools said they didn't accept them)

I know that UCB accepts the ACT, but I'm not sure if they will accept the ACT as a substitute for the SAT I. Most applicants submit scores from both tests.

Thanks flopsy...IM applying RD to UCB so Ill have time to get that SAT score up.

MIT accepts both the SAT and the ACT, and has no preference for one over another.

See adcom Matt's testing requirements FAQ.

Mollie thanks for the input. I also have a question for MIT/and the other schools in general. Does an SAT/SAT II that I take in November get counted for early decision?

I remember this question being brought up last year, but I don't remember what the answer is.

I think the best bet is to ask Matt -- he'll probably get to the answer in one of his next entries.

i know carnegie mellon and MIT accept the ACT instead of the SAT but i'm pretty sure you still have to take two SAT subject tests.
