Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science to Offer Computational Biology Major

Starting for students applying to Carnegie Mellon in fall 2016, all undergraduates admitted to the School of Computer Science will choose one of two majors: computer science and the new computational biology major.

There is a press release about the program at http://www.cbd.cmu.edu/1037/, and the program homepage is http://www.cbd.cmu.edu/education/bs-in-computational-biology/.

I am the Program Director and would be happy to answer any questions that you might have.

@phillipcompeau My Daughter has applied to SCS (Regular Decision). She has mentioned Computational Biology in her essay. There is no explicit choice for Computational Biology as major in Common Application.
