I’m personally awaiting a response from SAMS but I would really appreciate any help you can provide on alternative STEM or Pre-College programs available to juniors. Keep in mind that most of the applications for prestigious summer programs have already closed back in February.
Alternatives:
Find an internship at a local university! Get a job at a local business or a company that matches your career goals! Travel and learn about foreign cultures!

@jimjung76 Damn, yeah that really is BS. It has to just be the circumstance of the program. If I was looking for an Asian male, I don’t see how anyone could top that. I know you’ll definitely do great things though. Good luck.
I think it hurt a lot of people that they didn’t apply early enough. Since the admissions are rolling, they probably had tons of people apply with only a couple of spots left so they had to make some hard decisions. If you all had applied earlier in the year, you would have all gotten in. Just keep that in mind for future references.
I’m so nervous… I (well my counselor) submitted on the 15th and I haven’t heard back. Last year, I was waitlisted for APEA and I’ve never been able to be in a program so fingers crossed!!!

Got my decision today, got rejected as well. I think the program is either full or only has like one or two spots left, so no surprise there.
I just got into the program and honestly I’m so excited to just learn all I can and make friends. And gobears is right about applying early it’s a really smart move especially if you don’t feel like your resume is that extraordinary
