Carnegie Mellon University Class of 2024 Regular Decision

“Priority” wait list at Dietrich for Economics. I thought I was going to get straight up rejected. Does anyone know if there’s a difference between priority and regular wait list? And are my chances of getting in higher with the priority wait list?

Accepted engineering. Really weird since I have not gotten the FAT letter even though i live in PA.

stats: 4.62 weighted/5, 36 act, 800 math2 chem physics

What are the chances of getting off the waitlist? Btw I think everyone who was waitlisted has the option of choosing priority waitlist.

rejected…5th rejection this week
1520 SAT
102/100 GPA weighted

@patbluc Google Carnegie Mellon Where Am I In The Process and click from there

accepted! have been looking to be accepted here since 6th grade

Talk about cruel & unusual…2nd rejection from CMU for my DS. For some reason he was part of RD even though he was rejected ED. argh

Congrats to all who got in!

Priority waitlist. MechE California. Can someone post if there are 2 waitlist types, Priority and Regular?

accepted to engineering

finally a school where race isn’t the highest consideration

Which is better for engineering: georgia tech or carnegie mellon

Somehow got accepted into engineering with my 1420 sat

Surprised I got priority wait listed with my 29 ACT

What are the chances of getting admitted from the priority waiting list. Do you know how many are placed on priority waiting list?

@WCSeniorsDad Last year 143 were accepted off the waitlist (total) and around 5,000-ish people are waitlisted out of about 44,000-ish total applicants. The chances of getting accepted are super super small and I don’t think I’m gonna accept my place on the waitlist :frowning:

@anonymousbrady69 Overall, GaTech is better but for CS, Carnegie!

I got waitlisted, but I also applied to vandy and emory and UPenn and Columbia. If I can’t get into this school is there any chance of me getting in those do you think?

got into mcs for astrophysics!! essays were trash but i guess somehow it all worked out

Decision: Rejected
OOS Asian Fem
SAT - 1540, GPA 4.4/5
Good ECs, OK essays, no hooks

Waitlisted with the option for priority at the college of humanities - I don’t think I’m going to take either spot because I know the school will end up being way too expensive anyway. I am very surprised I got in though, was fully expecting it to be my third rejection this week lol.
1420 SAT, 33 ACT, 97 GPA, lots of ECs that I’m dedicated to but nothing too crazy, most likely good letters of rec, but my essays were hastily done and pretty general.
