Which class is this for? Has he already applied?

Class of 2023, he has applied as a freshman months and months ago  We did get a notice saying he would receive a decision March 25.

He is a great kid, super smart, and his stats are great, especially with the DE, but compared to a lot of the other CHance me threads on CC, for Carnegie Mellon, he isn’t out there “doing things” as much, so I know that makes other applicants more desirable. Also, his math SAT was on the low side with only 700. We feel it’s not hopeless but I’d say his chances are just as low as anyone else’s.

CalmingTea: I think your son will get a very good look. He has interesting EC’s. The math may be a little low for SCS but that could be mitigated by all the higher level courses. Another strong factor in his factor is that he is a diversity applicant.
