Carroll University Honors

Hey! So, I have applied, been accepted, and will attend Carroll University in the fall of 2018. I’ve also been fortunate enough to receive a merit scholarship based on my gpa and ACT score (neither of which are actually that high but I’m not complaining about the scholarship!). I have been considering applying for Carroll’s honors program; I feel that my ACT is inadequate to apply to such. I contacted someone from the program and they told me that since I got the merit scholarship, I’d be eligible to apply for honors. My ACT score is a 23 and my unweighted gpa is a 3.2 (but it might be higher since the scholarship gpa min and max was 3.75 - 4.00 with an ACT score of 23 - 26). Also, “admission is competitive and selective” (apparently only 100 undergraduates will be allowed to join). What should I do?

Also - I will be retaking the ACT on February 10th and possibly sometime again in April and my goal score is a 27; the deadline to apply is June 1st but I just don’t feel confident.

They clearly use weighted GPA and you must have had good curriculum rigor.
Do apply. What have you got to lose? Being in the honors program typically gives you perks and means you’ll be with motivated students in interactive classes. What’s not to like?
