<p>So would it be better to bring a car Freshman year or not? I'm lazy about car maintenance.</p>
<p>Revelle is the furthest college from the Regents parking lot. Sixth College is the closest. Either way, if you park WAY out there you're going to be taking the shuttle back to campus.</p>
<p>you can, but you'll have fierce competition from staff members and poor graduate students -- don't think a freshman's going to outsmart these people at parking.</p>
<p>Seriously, freshman take up parking spots for no reason. Everytime I walk by the Muir parking lot, I see the same car that hasn't moved all quarter in that same spot near Tenaya.</p>
<p>The kids are just taking up spots commuters could be using and they're wasting (their parents', presumably) money for a spot that they don't need.</p>
<p>It's those people that have motivated a lot of initiatives to place more measures for on-campus students requiring some extra criteria to purchase a permit.</p>
<p>With that said, if you try parking after 5pm, there will be plenty of spaces; if you want to park in S spots when classes are still in session, good luck!</p>
