CAS Freshman Seminars

1)what happens during one of these seminars

2)whats the difference between honors and collegiate

3)do we get tested on any material

An honors seminar is just like a regular class, except it's supposed to be more "intensive". In the one I took, there were just a lot of papers and projects, but I absolutely LOVED it. Not sure what the diff is between honors and collegiate ones though; I've never heard of the collegiate seminars.

Collegiate is newer and it involves an adviser who kind of acts as a "mentor" and stays with you after the class is over, I believe. Does anyone know if we have to apply for this prior to orientation?

nah, i think we do it at orientation or when we register for classes

Yeah you do it at orientation. Try to hurry though; interesting honors seminars tend to fill up quickly.

Yeah, I totally didn't get my first pick for my honors seminar. It was still interesting though.
