Questions about: Honors seminars, registration, etc

Okay, so this forum is a bit confusing on these issues... so I just wanted to repeat these questions to get straight answers (if anyone has them):

1) How do we register for honors seminars? I got the letter telling me about them in the first place, but didn't see anything about a deadline. Someone on the forum said they wanted you to do all of that by June 11th, but I haven't even gotten a course catalog or anything like that, so it seemed weird that you'd have to do it separately/so far in advance.

2) Speaking of registering... does that only happen at orientation? Again, I haven't gotten anything in the mail (if there is anything pertaining this information that is to be received, anyway)... so I was kind of confused.

Thanks guys, and I hope these weren't dumb/obvious questions.

All freshman will register when they get on campus for orientation. You'll meet with your adviser during that time, and (s)he'll give you all the details and when and how you'll get to choose your classes.

You can sign up for honors seminars when you choose your classes. They are almost exactly the same as regular classes, except that you need an activation code to register for them. Some students (scholars) send forms in during the summer, and they are guaranteed a seminar of their choice. However, if you aren't one of them, you can still find a seminar if you wait in line for a code during orientation. Most of the seminars don't get filled, so your odds of getting one are pretty good.
