Tell us how your waitlist situation goes.
Best wishes to @summr99T and @KoliInd99
Daughter has not received anything yet and not sure if that’s good or bad. She has signed to go to UIUC for EE - but no aid and I hear really difficult to change major into ME which is what she would like to do.
Received the following email:
Dear X,
I am writing with an update regarding the waitlist at Case Western Reserve University. While we would like to have more of a clear picture of how our incoming class is shaping up, and would then know whether we could admit additional students or whether we should close our waitlist, what we are seeing right now is that there is a fair amount of uncertainty. In most years the next couple weeks of May are when things start to solidify, and we’ll have a better sense of whether we can extend additional offers.
We have already released the vast majority of our waitlist, but since you are a student we would like to be able to admit if we have room, we have not yet closed your file. If you are still interested in Case Western Reserve, we will continue to be in touch should there be any spots available.

I am still interested in Case Western Reserve. Please keep me on the wait list.
I’ve made other plans. Please remove me from the wait list and close my application file.
We will be back in touch with an update Thursday, May 25, and we’ll contact you as soon as possible once we know whether we are able to admit additional students or if we need to release the rest of the waitlist.
Daughter received same email! Down to the wire!
Even I received the mail regarding the update. Could that mean something?
What that means is that they’ve “cleaned” the waitlist candidate pool and only the students they truly do want to admit remain on the wait list. I think the only factor that is relevant now is the space availability.
Because they’ve already admitted some waitlisted students, I think there are no spots available at the moment.
But, however, there’s still a possibility that some enrolled students might change their plans/go to another wait list, etc., so they just want to be EXTRA sure that every spot is actually taken.
Waitlist final decisions today. Anyone hear anything yet?
Not a total loss…accepted for class of 2022! If interested to take a gap year. And wait further until 6/15 if they can admit additional students.
Same here, accepted for class 2022!
Man, since my friend did not pick that option, he has to wait until June 15 for an answer. Sigh! The tortuous wait. Should he bother sending a letter of interest?
