Case Western Merit Scholarships...Interview?

Hi everyone :slight_smile:
I’m planning on applying for some of the merit scholarships offered by Case Western. On the website, only the Andrew and Eleanor Squire scholarship has any information about an on-campus interview. I’m wondering if all the scholarships require an on-campus interview if chosen as a finalist.

I would appreciate any response.

Thank you :slight_smile:

Some merit scholarships you are automatically eligible for (University, Bolton, Michelson-Morley) and some are competitive.

@bopper Thanks for replying.
I’m asking for the competitive ones. Do they all require an on campus interview if chosen as a finalist beisides the Andrew and Eleanor Squire one?

I am not sure about that. Contact your admissions counselor https://case.edu/admission/contact
Do let us know what you find out.

@bopper I will. Thanks again

@bopper
Hello XXXX

Good to hear from you. You can find information on our scholarship competitions here that require you to come to campus.

Unfortunately, if you are chosen as a finalist for one of these, you will have to find a way to come to campus for an interview. We do not offer any online options such as Skype and Google Chat at this point.

I hope that helps.

Best,

So this is exactly what he sent me. I’m not sure if I should still apply since there’s no way I’ll be able to make it to their campus in March or April. :frowning:

Seems like you may have two issues, @cnc2000

  1. Do you have the time to get to campus
  2. Who pays for you to get to campus?

Back in the day I remember Case having a bus taking students from the NYC area to campus for sscholarshp competitions. I have no idea what they do now. I would suggest applying and then seeing what happens.
Is this in conjunction with admitted students days?

Also ask here on CC if anyone has gone to campus for the competitive scholarships and how did it work?

@bopper I’m currently not in the US so that’s an issue.
Yes, I do have the time. Not sure about the payment though but I’ll apply and see what happens though. I may not even be chosen but let’s see.
Thanks for your reply :slight_smile:

Has anyone seen what the interview dates are for 2018?

When does CWRU inform candidates of awards or interviews for awards?

@Winky1 I think April 1st. I applied for a couple so fingers crossed!

Do you think they invite for interview on April 1st? I am thinking that’s late. I thought they invite earlier than that and could announce on April 1st.

Has anyone heard back about interviews for the competitive full-tuition scholarships yet?

No

My daughter emailed them and they said finalists would hear by March 20th. Non finalists would not be notified.

Has anyone heard back on the scholarships?

Got an email confirming decisions would be released at 8EST tomorrow. Good luck to all!

But that’s for admission, right? Aren’t the scholarships separate?

No.

I’m confused. So if you got an interview for one of their competitive scholarships, the ones that require an on-campus interview, you will find out at 8 pm tomorrow with the admission decision?

Somehow I thought that was a separate notification?
