Scholarships that required an essay

Has anyone received any notification yet on whether she/he has advanced to the interview stage?

I have not. I’ve been wondering the same thing! They said that if selected, there would be an on-campus competition in March. Well, March is fast approaching, so it would be good to hear soon so we can make arrangements if necessary!

@rkepp12‌ and @shuttlebus‌ I just sent off an email to an admissions councilor and I’ll post with her reply when I get it. It is kind of annoying that we haven’t heard yet, even if it will be a no.

I heard notification by 3/20, possibly earlier.

@WaitingInCPA‌ who did you hear this from?

We had the same question about timing for the scholarship competition. Last week my son wrote and asked and here is the response from the admissions counselor:

Thank you for your email. Applicants will be notified by March 20 if they have been selected as a scholarship finalist. Non-finalisits will be not be notified. Finalists will be able to interview during any of the first three admitted student open house dates.

Feel free to write us back with further questions, or call 216.368.4450 Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., to speak to an admission counselor.

@ryan631 - that is the same response we got.

Anyone hear about these yet?

I received an email about a status update this morning. Logged in and found out that I received the full tuition Louis Stokes scholarship @-) definitely was not expecting this! I’m so happy right now!

@bubblet‌ Awesome! What are your stats? If you don’t mind sharing…

Top 3.4% at a competitive school, lots of leadership positions and volunteer hours, low-income, first-gen, MA

Just bumping this to see if anyone has been invited for an interview or if anyone has been awarded a leadership scholarship.

The response we received when posing a question about the scholarships that required additional materials to admissions was that recipients had been notified;

“All finalists for the special scholarships, and winners of the arts and achievement scholarships, have been notified. Feel free to write us back with further questions, or call 216.368.4450 Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., to speak to an admission counselor.”

Not sure if leadership is included in that but assuming it probably is. Hope that helps

I should add that the admissions staff have been wonderfully responsive and helpful - above and beyond other schools in our experiences to date.

I have to also agree with being impressed with admissions staff - they have quickly and courteously handled all my questions (even when I asked the same one multiple times because I wanted to be THAT sure). The acceptance process was the neatest as well - everything in one letter right away - every other school has provided the merit info a few weeks later and in dribbles when multiple scholarships involved - can’t keep track of it all. It’s been my ‘gut feel’ school for S since the beginning - not sure what he will decide (though I do know it is one of his top choices).

Our son was notified of getting some additional scholarship money through the Leadership Scholarship. He applied for two other scholarships, and didn’t hear anything on those–so I guess he won’t be winning either of those based on the previous posts.

But I would concur that Case has been outstanding to deal with all the way through the process. I just wish all other schools could operate the same way!
