Case Western question

Hi,

I just had a quick question; hopefully someone can answer it. Case Western Reserve University has a very good reputation and is ranked fairly high (#41 national university by US News), however its acceptance rate is considerably higher (around 74%) than other schools of its caliber. could anyone explain this?

thanks!

It’s considered to be a self-selecting colleges; typically, only strong students apply. Take a look at their average SAT scores, they’re quite good and would not correspond with your average 75% admit rate school.

^I agree. 10char

^^Exactly.

Fact is, students that aren’t academically motivated would not fit in at Case, and the application pool reflects that.
