I would say Case might be the better choice since you want a medium school and city setting (Essentially right in Cleveland). I'm not certain about Wisc but I know Case has a strong pre-med facilities.

Case Western Reserve hands down; I might be biased but it's got creds. There's Cleveland Clinic right around the corner (one in the nation for the cancer and neurology care-->they treated top US male figure skater Scott Hamilton), Rainbow Children's Hospital across the street (one of the top 5 in the nation for pediatric care), and University Hospital (has a good rep as well) right on campus. There's so much opportunity, just as a forewarning though, Case often shares the top spot with MIT when it comes to workload, but Case is in a great location for opportunity. Also they have a combined MD/PHD program, so that's something to consider as well.

Wisconsin-Madison if you want a real overall college experience. Do well there and on your tests and you can go to any medical school in the country. Spending 24k less over four years is also nice.

I, too, would recommend UW-Madison. You will have a much more well rounded college experience. As stated above, if you do well and have good MCATs, you will stand an excellent shot at any med school. And the cost savings puts money in the bank.

The UW is in just as urban a setting as Case. Madison is not as big as Cleveland but offers most of the same amenities, and a better quality of life. Actually the only amenities that it might not have compared to Cleveland would be major league sports and top tier arts organizations (symphony, art museum, et al.) Of course, Wisconsin has great college sports, which Case does not have, and its cultural offerings are more than adequate, especially for a college undergrad. The climate is also better in Madison -- really. Less snow, more sun.

Wisconsin has more depth in the biosciences and life sciences than Case by a mile. It also has several major hospitals on campus or within walking distance and the UW Hospitals are ranked very hghly for quality.
