***Case Western Reserve University Class of 2020 Applicant Thread***

How are we notified about the decision?

I’m gonna take a wild guess and say by Email like applicants did last year.

Anyways there’s only like 1 week left until Decisions <:-P

You guys think it’s too late to schedule an interview ??? Would it even count towards EA??

I think if I do one now they’ll think i’m like a massive procrastinator. (which I am, they don’t have to know that though.

:stuck_out_tongue: )

What other schools have you guys applied to?

@SnapApp: I applied to Texas A&M, UCLA and UC Berkeley, and UChicago.

@bopper I heard from my school counselor that being “procrastinated” like that for an interview means that we got deferred. I have the same problem; I called them and they always told me they were working to match me, even though I’d signed up long ago.

@Suspects wait seriously??? my scores are way above and GPA is in their range…

@Suspects @teenagecrime There’s a possibility, but I doubt that’s true.

@teenagecrime @KarimChammaa My counselor seemed really sure, so I’m pretty scared and worried! I genuinely liked Case :stuck_out_tongue:

My daughter also requested an interview and never got one, but the Case swimming coach reached out to her to see if she might be interested in swimming for Case. Don’t think we should read much into either, is my point…

Doesn’t mean they won’t defer, alas, though I’m in absolutely no position to say whether they will or won’t for anybody. Just saying that being in range or above is no guarantee of anything except at schools that look at that exclusively.

My general impression is that the number of applicants have gone up signficantly, so they may simply be struggling to keep up. An interview might be a good sign, but lack of one may not be a sign of anything other than scarce resources.

@porcupine98 That’s pretty comforting to know. Thanks!

Mind you, I bring no inside knowledge to this, but that’s how I choose to read the tea leaves I can see. Good luck to everyone waiting to hear!

Does anyone have any idea when we’ll get decisions? Will it be the 15th?

@magikarp256: I believe it’s somewhere around there. One of my friends who applied there said decisions would be out on the 16th.

According to their website, EA and ED1 notifications will get notification “by” December 15. http://admission.case.edu/apply/applicationinstructions.aspx

Does anyone happen to know if PPSP applicants hear about UG admission decision before the PPSP interview invitations go out or is it bundled together at the same time for 2/1?
The deadline for PPSP applications was 2wks after EA & we were told PPSP applicants can not apply ED or EA for just UG. So we’re sitting here wondering when we’ll hear back about just the UG portion by itself.

I’m probably reading to much into this, but today D (who applied EA) got “think” the magazine of Case Western Reserve University. Maybe giving her a subscription to their magazine is a good sign???

@palm715 I got one too. I don’t know how much it really matters tho as CASE has been sending my House a “think” magazine monthly anyways. Usually it’s addressed to my Father who’s an alumni, this time it had my name on it.

Although I’m guessing they send it to everyone who applied, not sure…

Case has been pretty relentless with the emails and mailings (including the magazine) since before they had any idea what my kid was or was not bringing to the table. Trying not to read anything into anything.
