Hi, I’m a junior and not positive where to apply. I have focused extracurriculars and the hardest rigor possible this year. I go to a competitive public school that doesn’t rank because all of the students are smart, but I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA (top 10%). 35 ACT. Could you categorize these schools as reaches, matches, and safeties? Financial aid and cost isn’t a concern. Thanks!
Johns Hopkins
Uchicago
Rice
WUSTL

Dartmouth
Northwestern
Tulane
Boston College
Wake Forest
Northeastern

Lehigh
Colgate
JHU-NWU, all reaches for everyone.
All others are matches or high matches where you will need to show interest. You have no safety schools in this list.
Any suggestions for safety schools?
Your home state flagship.
UVA is a safety for me? @TomSrOfBoston
I wouldn’t have posted that if you had stated your home state earlier. UVa would be a low match. Other VA public would be pretty much safeties.
If you don’t care about cost, there are plenty of excellent colleges that have acceptance rates of 40% and above. Those would be possible low match or safety schools. You need to indicate what your preferences are. Rural urban, conservative, liberal. Etc… Think about the LACs too. Many great choices.
You only really need to apply to one safety. University of Michigan, University of Maryland, Villanova, etc could be possible safeties.
Michigan is not a safety. Hilarious.
Apply to all of them if u have money. U have 0% chance at some of these more prestigious schools if u don’t apply
Perhaps he means UM Flint or Dearborn. LOL.
