catholic boarding schools?

hi i am looking at catholic boarding schools for high school. has anyone been to one and could tell me about it? i really like this one school st. bernard in cullman alabama. if u have any information on that it would be great! thx

I have been on the campus of Canterbury School in Connecticut, and it is very attractive. You might want to investigate that Please wait.... I've known a few people whose children went there, and they were happy with the school. The other catholic boarding school occasionally discussed on this board is Portsmouth Abbey Portsmouth Abbey School . Wouldn't it be nice to be right in front of the ocean? I'm not familiar with St. Bernard School in Alabama, but it is far from where I live.

Canterbury School, Cotter Schools, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, Georgetown Preparatory School, La Lumiere School, Portsmouth Abbey School, St. Catherine's Military Academy, St. John's Preparatory School, St. Thomas More School, Santa Cantalina School, Subiaco Academy

One of my D's graduated from their boarding school, which is small, 30 girls. It is mostly an all-girls, Catholic day school in a rural setting and well regarded locally. Girls from nearby towns/cities commuted by bus to the school.

My D was in the barn every day for the 2 1/2 yrs she attended. She rode horses and had such a good time. She was on the Equestrian team.

She loved it, although the fact that the boarding school is so small was a bit of a turnoff. Seniors left campus on weekends and so it was a bit boring for her, as she didn't have a car.

for my D, it was a very good experience, though.

I got into Portsmouth Abbey this year...everyone seems really nice and it looks like a great school. I applied late, so I haven't given my decision yet. I just don't think I can bring myself to leave home. It's the hardest decision I've ever had to make...
