If you are a junior in hs you would know that SAT IIs=subject tests.
They are additional tests required by some schools.
There is a CC sub forum under SAT/ACT forum you should check out:
SAT Subject Tests Preparation

OP=original poster=you.

Just take the ACT.

Don’t send in any SAT scores and only send ACT.

ACT is generally considered easier, anyways.

thats a bit harsh for something so small, but seriously, why?
what do you expect. Everyone gets the same test and same allotted time. If you don’t finish, tough luck. deal with it.

Oh come on CC’ers, how many of you have desperately tried to get one more answer in when the proctor calls time? Seriously, it was not smart of the OP, but his proctor is an a**hole.

I would definitely cancel. Fax the response and or send in writing via overnight mail if need be to get it in by the deadline. An overnight fee is minimal compared to everything else.

wow. everyones just trashing you right now.
dont worry dude. 1 sat is not gna kill ur chances.
and the post about community college is just rediculous.

u can still aim for great colleges dude, try the ACT? its very similar to the SAT so ur studying wont be a waste. its just 1 test. dont worry man, cant believe everyone is just trashing u right now.

According to the Washington Post article someone included, you can cancel the score. Even if the ETS concluded you were cheating, they will not tell colleges.

i honestly think this is a ■■■■■ from some of the things the OP stated…but who knows

lilnoobi I agree with you…the OP sounds suspicious in my opinion… while I was taking the SAT my proctor caught a kid in the wrong section and she (the proctor) just made a joke out of it and told him to go back to the right section…

I’m not sure that CB will even hint that you cheated. For legal reasons, I would think they wouldn’t want to report something unless they were absolutely sure it happened. They could get in trouble with a lawsuit if they say someone was cheating, and then it comes out that the proctor was overzealous for catching cheaters and just saw someone flipping through the pages. Plus, why would people take another CB test if they knew CB would report their cheating – they wouldn’t. CB wants to make money, and they won’t report a cheater if it means losing money.

Also, I think they’re supposed to let you continue taking the SAT even when caught. At least from what I’ve seen in a released supervisor’s manual they’re only supposed to dismiss when they catch it twice. (They are supposed to report it the first time.)

Honestly, I think the proctor overstepped their bounds. They’re supposed to report cheaters and let CB make the decision, not dismiss them immediately. It’s not their job to make the decision as to whether someone was cheating or not, just report suspicious behavior.

I don’t really see the big deal. People are saying that you broke a contract, but they’re the ones discussing multiple choice answers in other threads, which is totally against the rules. I think your proctor was a little harsh. I really don’t know if I would consider it cheating.

man, that sucks. i feel bad for you. you rlly have to way the odds of getting caught if ur gonna cheat. i freind of mine told me he had discussed answers and knew three answers he had to change, but only ended up getting around to changing one of them b/c the rest wasn’t worth the risk. +20 pnts on the sat or risk what happened to you happening to him.

anyway, goodluck

Don’t worry too much about it…collegeboard will only report that the test was cancelled, not the reason why.

Hey guy, don’t worry. the best way for you is that: get a new e-mail address, and then register for a new collegeboard account. Then you can register for next SAT using the new account. (I have tried this.)

if u got more questions, you can send me email to mysat2000@163.com. Glad to help u

I, also, do not believe that this will go on your SAT permanent record. From what I understand, the CB will never accuse a student of cheating. They will just cancel the score. Sadly, they also cancel the scores of the people who were being cheated off of, which is totally unfair. But it’s the only way because they cannot be certain of who cheated off of whom. And they will offer both parties a free retake.

According to this article I read today ([China’s Test Prep Juggernaut - BusinessWeek](<a href=“Bloomberg - Are you a robot?”>Bloomberg - Are you a robot?)), a Chinese prep company is encouraging students to turn back in the test booklet because the first consequence is just a warning. I think the proctor overreacted, and if I were you, I’d call CB and demand an explanation. I know that you are guilty, but they do not know that. But only the guilty would keep quiet. Raise a fuss and hopefully you’ve learned your lesson and won’t do it again.

And I understand the temptation to turn back. I often will work a math problem out in the current portion of the test booklet so that technically, I am not breaking the rules. I have never been corrected or contacted for these math notations in the writing or reading sections.

Jack up the proctors car, but don’t get caught
