CB Asking for Payment-Scam?

Hi,

Collegeboard sent me a letter with a history of all my test fees and then asked me to pay an extra $8.00. The reason that they gave was that there was some changes to their transaction system. Is this legit? Did anybody else get this letter? They asked for a check to "The college board" to be sent to "the College Entrance Examination Board, P.O. box 27849, New York, NY 10087-7849

the return address on the envelope was this:
College and University Enrollment Service
11911 Freedom Drive, Suite 300
Reston, VA 20190-5602

Its a scam for sure.

Sounds fishy but I would call the College Board to find out and use one of its phone numbers provided on-line to do so rather than one in the letter. The return address on the envelope appears it might be a legitimate CB address. However, the PO Box New York address you are given to send the check is not on College Board's publicly available list of addresses, see: <a href="http://www.collegeboard.com/html/communications000.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.collegeboard.com/html/communications000.html</a></p>
