Hey @dizzy99! I don’t think it sounds weird at all. 
I’m always looking for things CBYX FLAG related too. I haven’t heard anything back either, I was wondering the same thing. Are they going to send a follow up email with more information? How many people did they choose? (Hopefully just over the 50 that they need) I think in the email where they said the dates semi-finalists would be announced, they also said that there would be 2 emails sent out to semi-finalists about interviews. But, they are taking a while to send the other one! It’s making me so nervous! I think I’ll probably just email Amanda (the person who sent all the CBYX FLAG emails) if we don’t get more information by the end of the week
Also, @dizzy99 when and where is your interview?
@linzyh you’re right! I just reread the emails and they did say they’d be sending another one. I’m sure it’ll come soon! Can’t wait to hear more about it.

@dizzy99 @linzyh My semi-finalist notification doesn’t address anything about a follow-up email? How weird.
@kendallanon not the semifinalist email- the ‘submitted application’ email kind of briefly mentions them following up on the interview if you’re chosen as a semifinalist? hopefully that’s true because I’d love to know more haha
@dizzy99 Anyways… You asked about the number of semi-finalist, i’m guessing not very many. Lauren ( @linzyh ) mentioned earlier that so far there was a total of 150 applications at the time when she was applying; That was probably 2 weeks before the application deadline. We must be confident with ourselves and know that we can be the next CBYXers
@dizzy99 Also, I don’t think Amanda meant an e-mail when she said ‘Follow up with you soon.’ I’m assuming she meant an actual phone call. That’s the message I got from the text.
@KendallAnon Ooh, I hadn’t considered a phone call. That would definitely make sense!
I hope you’re right and there’s not that many. I think I have a good chance but I won’t stop feeling nervous until we know for sure!
And I will definitely let y’all know how the interview goes, since mine is first.
@dizzy99 Welcome and congratulations! I’m in the CIEE region, but I emailed our representative, Julia Littlefield, somewhat often so that I could be certain that she’d received my info. I think that’s a good thing to do, if you haven’t figured it out yet!
Oh, and for the southeast, 100 out of 600 applicants are semi-finalists, I believe. Okay so I see you have everything under control, I probably should’ve read the last page before I posted that 
@petitlion Wow! Those are some big big numbers, but nothing compared to ASF who sometimes gets 1,000+ applicants! Congratulations on making it to semi-finals Hopefully you share the news when you’re selected a finalist! Also, we asked earlier; Could you share your interview experience with us? What questions were asked?
@dizzy99 I know how you feel !! I won’t stop feeling nervous either, it’s one of those things that you can’t stop thinking about and then you lack sleep as a result. But you’ll be fine, i’m sure of it!
We should consider creating the FLAG Facebook group page! I’ve been searching them up but I haven’t came across any :-/
Did all of you FLAG people get the email from Amanda today? The application attached was really long. But, we have a month to fill it out, so that’s good. also, if you guys are anything like me, then you have probably looked at a lot of CBYX blogs. if so, are there any particular blogs you really like to read? I’m always looking for good CBYX blogs to read
@linzyh I did get the long and tedious application I’m a bit confused though? Are we supposed to send it via e-mail? Or typed and then printed and turned in? It says to turn the packet in @ headquarters but where is that?
I think they just mean email it to the FLAG headquarters office, which for us means Amanda I guess? That’s what it sounded like to me. Also, it doesn’t sound like we’re really being judged on this application, right? It’s just an approval thing, I think.
Would y’all be interested in making a Facebook group? I’ve been looking for one too! I can make one later today and maybe we can find some other semifinalists.
So excited for the interview! And so glad we don’t have numbers like the AFS and CIEE regions haha.
Also @linzyh I don’t really have any favorite blogs yet overall but I do know that wendygoesgerman has some good practice interview questions! Obviously the interview is mostly about being yourself but good to get an idea of what it might be like!
@dizzy99 I’ve also been looking at wendygoesgerman’s mock interview questions. They seem really helpful. By the way, I’m emailing Amanda right now to ask some clarifying questions. I’ll let you (@dizzy99 and @KendallAnon) know what I hear back from her
@dizzy99 This application is usually given once you BECOME a scholar/alternate, but for some reason it was given earlier. Frankly it’s not a problem for me. For the most part, our acceptance into the
program was determined by our first application. We’ve passed that stage (Thank the Lord) [-O< .
I believe this one is used to place you with the most suitable host-family etc, it’s basically clarifying everything and getting more in depth with details like our immunizations, allergies, and including rules and regulations. We should probably get started ha
