CC credit/grade

<p>Are community grades transferable or is it just credit? I'm taking a class right now and i heard some schools only accept credit. Berkeley's faq on grades outside of the UC system confuses me:</p>

<p>Grades: The grades that you earn at another college, except at other UC campuses, are not calculated into your UC grade-point average. Keep in mind, however, that to apply for graduate work or to transfer to another undergraduate college, a cumulative college gpa is calculated from all the transcripts you submit. Also, honors at graduation from UC Berkeley is calculated on your Berkeley and other UC course work.</p>

<p>So, it's credit for UC gpa but grades for grad school app?
In that case, is it okay if i request credit only for the class? </p>

<p>from the wording you provided, it appears that CC classes do not affect your UC gpa. They only count for credit at UC's. However, they will be included in your gpa if/when you apply to graduate school or are being considered for UCB honors. </p>

<p>I'm not sure what you mean by request credit only. You mean like take a class pass fail? i can't help you with that sorry.</p>
