I currently attend UCI, but i would like to graduate early, and i came with 32 units (AP), and by the end of my first year, i would have in total completed roughly 70~78 units.
and i know in that rate it'll take me a full 4-years to graduate, so i was gonna take summer schools, but i know paying for summer school at UCI is going to more expensive then if i were to take couple classes at IVC ( a community college), but i heard that CC units are counted as only elective credits like most AP scores, which is fine in that I was going to take units so that I can just rack up on units.
SO my question is, 1)is this smart? 2)is it allowed? 3) any suggestions or thoughts please reply
thanks :)

1.) Sure, many students do this.

2.) Yes

3.) I guess it depends on what kind of classes you are planning to take at the CC, and if its for the sole purpose of units, then I guess you can. Keep in mind that all students are required 60 units from major, 60 from GE, and 60 from Elective + minor.

CC units will be counted towards elective if it does not fulfill any major or GE requirement, just as it is in UCI.
