Hi, so im a first year student at my California community college, and I really want to transfer in 2 years. This is my first semester and I am in a bit of a tricky situation. In order to have guaranteed admission in to uci I will need 30 credits by the end of summer and 60 overall. In order for that to happen im going to have to take 5 classes next semester and 2 during the summer in order to get the 30 credits. The fall and spring semester after that, I should be fine. So I need advice if this is really worth it. Is the rush to transfer out in 2 years worth it? Is 5 classes in 1 semester doable? and Is 2 classes in the summer doable? Thanks, and please give me as much advice and opinion as you can!!
Are the units different at your college? Out here the standard semester class is three units and 12 to 15 units per semester is a normal full-time load.
That seems like a normal load with the addition, of course, of summer. One year is usually 30 semester units full-time.
I can help you out. But first, what’s your major?
5 in a regular semester and 2 in the summer is doable. Also make sure to take advantage of the winter session if you’re worried about courseload depending on what classes you want to take.
