CC in summer for prospective kelly SA?

Looking into taking a class or two in the summer at a CC before fresh year. I already have AP credit in micro and macro, what classes should i take? and what advantages do I get from taking these? thanks

also if I dont have any college math credit, do you have to take M118 and 119 freshman year?

OP,

Didn’t you read posts from other threads? If I were you, I would take M118 and W131 this summer at CC.

If I were to take M118 at cc, would I not have to take it at all at IU?

Completion of 30 hours of college course work (AP or college credit will count)

• Completion of these courses on the IU Bloomington campus:
:black_small_square: BUS-K 201 or BUS-K 303
:black_small_square: Choose one: ENG-W 131, BUS-C 104, BUS-C 204, BUS-L 201 or BUS-G202 and BUS-D270
:black_small_square: Choose two: BUS-A 201, BUS-A 202, ECON-E 201, ECON-E 202, MATH-M 118, MATH-M 119, ECON-E 370, or BUS-A 100 and BUS-G 202

Sorry not totally getting this. I already have credit in E201 and 202, so does that mean I dont have to take any of those classes in the choose two column? Or do I have to take two different classes other than e201 or 202 in the choose two column?

If you have already taken E201 and E202, you need to choose others from the list. My daughter had taken those also, so took M 118 and M 119.

Right - if you take m118 at cc you do not have to take it at IU, but as scrabblemomb said, you still need to take 2 classes at IU from the list in the last bullet point. My daughter took E201 & E202 at CC and came in with credit for M119. She suggests that you stay away from math at IU if possible (tend to be GPA-busters), and take BUS-A 100 and BUS-G 202, followed by either BUS-A 201 or BUS-A 202. Most students take A201 before A202, so A201 is probably your best bet. Add to that BUS-K 201 and BUS-C 104 from the first two lists and you’re all set. Good luck!

Trying to decide to either take an English 131 or a100 course this summer. Anyone have an opinion on what would be better to take?

Math is too much of a time commitment with my sched

I’d say English 131 at IU is a bigger risk than A100. It really isn’t difficult to do well in A100 if you make yourself do the practice tests. You don’t know if your 131 instructor will appreciate your writing. I’d strongly recommend getting 131 out of the way.

Taking English 131 at NCC. Need Visiting Student Home Institution Approval. How can matriculation status be verified at IU? Need this official form from Home School confirming enrollment status in order to register at NCC.
