I’m not sure if I’m going to IU yet but it is one of my top choices. If I go I’ll be trying to get into Kelley as a standard admit. I am really far behind in math. Last year I took Algebra ll and really slacked off and barely passed. I pretty much don’t remember anything from that class. This year I’m in AP Stat and doing pretty good (B).
I was wondering if I should take College Algebra this spring at CC and then Pre calc in summer. That way I won’t be so far behind when college comes around. Or will being far behind in math not effect me?
Also is there any other classes I should take at CC assuming I go to IU? I am taking a CC English class at my HS but forgot to pay for it and IU would of gave me credit for W131. I’m gonna see if I can still pay.
W131 credit would definitely be useful. Based on what you wrote here, it sounds like you would have trouble with the IU math classes. You need to get at least a B in finite and calculus in order to get into Kelley. I think taking algebra and pre-calc sounds like a good idea, and you also might want to take finite and calculus (M118 and M119 at IU) at a CC the summer after your freshman year. These classes are doable at IU, but many students with more math experience struggle with them. I would also look at the link below and get familiar with the standard admit requirements.

Thank you for the helpful link. That would be awesome if I don’t have to take those math classes at IU considering math is my weak spot. So my understanding is I can take K201, Bus-C104, Bus A100, Bus G-202(assuming I take micro/macro at CC this summer) and A201 and meet the freshman requirements for Kelley standard admit? I want to put my self in the best situation to get into Kelley.
I’ve read other places that accounting classes are hard but I took Acct 101 at CC and got A and have an A+ in Hnrs Acct ll so I’m very familiar with basics of Accounting and hoping this background helps me out.
That sounds like a good plan to me. You should be fine in IU accounting classes if you have prior experience. Just go to class and do the practices tests and you’ll be fine. G202 and C104 are very easy to get a B in, and you can actually look at previous grades here: http://gradedistribution.registrar.indiana.edu/
I would add Compass (BUS-T 175) and a bunch of gen ed classes to fill out your schedule. The requirements can be found below. You basically need 1 natural science class, 2 arts and humanities, and 2 world culture classes, and W131 if you can’t get credit for it. There are some classes that double count for arts and humanities and world culture credit.

Everything else should be filled with required Kelley classes. You can also see a list of gen ed classes in that link. I would find a few that sound interesting and have a decent grade distribution. I took Ancient Greek Culture (CLAS-C 101) and Intro to the Old Testament (REL-A 210) and they were both decently easy classes that double count. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for all this extremely beneficial information. My only other question would be if IU will take some some credits I have and use them for Gen Ed classes. For example, would I be able to use credits from my AP English(3) and those math classes I plan on taking for gen ed classes instead?
You’re welcome. You can match up your AP scores to credits in this link: https://admissions.indiana.edu/apply/freshman/ap-exam-credit.html
Any AP credit that applies to a gen ed course will fulfill that gen ed requirement.
Finite and calculus both count for gen ed credit, but you still need 1 natural science, 2 arts and humanities, 2 world culture, and W131 after you take those classes.
