CC Student with 2 years of R&D Experience Looking to Transfer

Hello, I am new to this forum so forgive me if this discussion is worded weirdly.

I am a current community college student from California, and have been working at a national laboratory since I graduated high school. I am going to be applying for transfer soon and I am wondering if those you on this website could give me some constructive advice on my standing and chances of acceptance at universities. My cumulative GPA is a 3.48, though by the end of the semester I hope to have a 3.5. My major is biology/microbio/biotech.

I am applying to the major UCs (Berkeley, Davis, LA, San Diego), as well as other schools such as Cal Poly Pomona/SLO and SF State. I am also planning to apply to out of state schools as well, such as Oregon State, Colorado State, U of Washington, U of Colorado Boulder, and Arizona State.

I suppose what I am asking is, what do you believe are my chances of getting into a UC compared to the other in-state schools, and to the out-of-state schools? My end goal is to attend the school that offers me the most scholarship money. Do you think that out-of-state unis will offer more scholarship money? Do you think my chances of a UC offering me scholarship money is even feasible?

Please let me know if you need more clarification on my background, and please let me know if I’m even asking the right questions. I have no SAT/ACT scores, all I have is my GPA and work experience.

Thank you.

For the UC’s, this should help you gauge your chances. UC Transfer GPA admit ranges by major and campus:

Cal States take into consideration if you are in the local service area especially SLO. SLO and CPP will more difficult since all majors listed are impacted, but your GPA puts you in range.

Best of luck.

Thank you so much, this is immensely helpful.
