Kevintech, I wholeheartedly appreciate your input. I'm probably going to follow that path myself. My post was NOT directed towards you at all, it was for g1a2b3e. I'm sorry about the confusion.

Ok, I thought it was directed because you mentioned none of the replies helped. I apologize as well.

I will have an AA too and graduating at my CCC this June; I'll attend that graduation event with honors GPA 3.67+ to show appreciation to my CCC--my second chance!

I am a premed major and if I get my AA degree I will be a junior standing and I will be behind in my premed classes. You have to take the MCAT in April of your junior year.

I am taking enough classes to transfer (about 40crdits) I should be a Sophome standing-depending on the university. And I can take Phyics/0-chem/ and upper level courses (300/400) to more competive.

So I say it depends on your major. :)

what can you do with an associates? I need to take like 5 more random electives to get it and for me I just don't think it will be worth it. I have like 60 credits by the end of this sem in courses I need, I'm going to Cornell in the fall for my bachelor's, I just don't think an associates is needed. I would have to take extra summer courses which isn't exactly how I want to spend my summer. But if the courses you needed to take fulfilled the requirement for your associates, then I guess take it. It's not going to hurt you in anyway.

The Madden Bus..right. An AA degree is pretty much useless, but if you already have the classes, why not just get it? If you need to take additional classes, I agree..that would be silly.

Congrats on Cornell. What are your stats?

AA degrees are glorified toilet paper.

AA degrees are better than high school diplomas. Period. So...if AA degrees are toilet paper, then what are high school diplomas? You should have just gotten your GED instead of graduating and started your community college experience then.

I can't get my AA b4 transferring, cuz I'm not igetc certified bcuz of Spanish 2, crap. The sh**ty counselor told me to graduate in October.

my stats probably aren't really as competitive as you would normally see for Cornell. I have a 3.8 at my CC, but I had the guaranteed transfer agreement, so that probably made the difference. I had a few good extracurriculars that I really cared about and I wrote some honest essays. How bout you talkel, what are your stats? Noticed in your previous posts you were talking about IGETC and all that business. All I know about that stuff is that it has to do with transferring to UCs. You going to Berkely or UCLA?

I did get my GED, and I did start my community college experience then.

option 1 talks about completing option 3 as part of it but you don't need to complete option 1 to transfer, just for the occ AA....option 3 is all that matters to transfer to UC

wrong again. I completed option 3 with 60 untis and petitioned for AA degree. They sent me a letter that i will be eligible for the AA degree at the end of this semester. I never took PE classes.
They even invited me to the graduation. but i am not going.
