Hey everyone,

I'm trying to figure out which classes I would absolutely need to transfer from CC to SJSU in Computer Science. The UC's seem to be more concise about what courses are absolutely required and which can be finished at the UC. SJSU's agreement with my CC (De Anza), however, seems vague to me.

For example, according to the articulation agreement, it lists Math 1A through 1D, discrete math, and linear algebra, but it doesn't state if linear or discrete math are required before transfer.

This is a problem because my first two quarters at De Anza I'll be taking Math 42 and 43 and only starting Math 1A during my third quarter. This placing will have me finishing Math 1D during my 2nd quarter of my 2nd year (if I take Math 1B during the summer), and so my last quarter I would need to take both Discrete Math AND Linear Algebra at the same time to fulfill all of the listed math requirements. At my school, linear algebra's pre-req is Math 1D.

So is it possible to not fulfill all of the listed courses and still be accepted to SJSU?

Also, any advice on what I could do about my situation? It's starting to look like taking PreCalc my first 2 quarters will severely hurt my options when I apply to UC's and CSU's simply because I do not have enough time to finish through linear algebra, differential equations, and discrete math.

Thank you.
