I planned on transferring to a small liberal arts school this fall, but due to high cost and overall disinterest in the schools, I've decided to stay another year and take my chances on getting into more prestigious and cheaper UC- hoping for Berkeley. I was also awarded the Cal Grant B and qualify for full pell, so this going to a cal state or UC is definitely the better decision for me.

My stats:

Major: Philosophy

Transfer GPA: 3.58 (upward trend, ending on 4.0 last semester; currently taking summer classes to get up to 3.6)

Major Prep: 4.0 (Just two classes though)

IGETC requirements will all be completed by the end of summer and I will have 59 units. I will probably just take a few classes to maintain full-time student status

E.C.'s: Two year of college sport (not continuing due to frequent injuries), internship for local elected official, paid position on campaign, worked with children at local club, will be a part of student gov't, applying for volunteer position at courthouse

It's been a hard decision staying around and I'm really hoping that it won't be in vain. Really hoping I can get into Berkeley or UCLA, but I wouldn't be too upset with Davis or UCSD. Does anyone have any input as to what the stats of Berkeley Philosophy admits have been in the past?
