I know this is a random post and all, but I figured the people in this section would appreciate it. I have begun a new mission to stop others on this website from bashing kids with above average (but not genius) SAT scores. So many people have been told that they would get rejected from their 1st choice school by cc members because of their, oh I dunno, 1240s for example. This is rude. I laugh out loud when I read posts about how people with 1240s are told they WON'T get into a school like UF because everyone on CC who is applying there has a 1550. No, that didn't happen to me lol, but this does need to be stopped. CC is supposed to "help" kids with college or "guide" them to a proper decision, not humiliate them because they didn't score in the 99th percentile. Maybe I'm just standing on a soap box too much, but that's what I think. I am now done with my editorial:)

You are wasting your time. CC is a collection of very talented kids. Get what you can from here, but don't spend time on trying to stop something you can't.

Im not an idiot if thats what you are thinking. Im simply asking why kids that are above average have to put normal kids down. Im not one of those kids with a 3.2 and 1060. And yet, I could never waste kids the way you guys do. All im asking is why do you guys do it? Why cant it just stop?

I would like to point out that while some people do this, not everyone does.

Also, people ask for these opinions, a person's prediction about what will happen. While hearing that you have a 95% chance of getting in is reassuring, it is in most cases not practical. I would much rather underestimate my chances and be happily suprised than overestimate them and be crushed.

All advice needs to be taken with a grain of salt. The people here (mostly) aren't the admissions officers, but they are trying to help as best they can.

There is a reason why a chances thread was created.
There are people who say that they want honest opinions.
There is a thing called reality.

You're only preventing people from getting feedback. I realize that while some of these people enjoy bashing others, there are a number of them that do not.
