I am so glad I found this site. It has been incredibly helpful.

I am an older student (28 years old) who has been at a CCC for the last two years. I have finished all of my ITGETC requirements and have been working on my pre-req classes for my school of choice and major. (UCLA/Business Economics) I have a 3.7 GPA and also work full time. I do have the requisite amount of units transfer as a junior.

I currently only have the calculus requirements left to fulfill the pre-req's listed on assist.org for the above school/major. However, I still need one more class before I can even start on the calculus requirements. Since I can only take one class a semester, I was under the impression that I had to wait 1.5 more years before I can even apply to UCLA. I started school later than my peers, but now that I am in school, I am dedicated and determined.

After reading through some of the posts on this site, I realize that I might be able to apply to UCLA for the 2013-14 school year as a pre business economics major. If accepted, I will be able to finish my calculus requirements for the major as well as possibly take some upper division electives at UCLA. My performance of my 1st-2nd quarter at UCLA will then determine whether or not I will be allowed into the highly competitive Biz Econ major. Can anyone confirm if this is correct?

1.5 years to delay transfer in order to take 3 classes seems inordinately inefficient. And since I started school later than most, I am eager to continue my education. But I thought it was the rules.

Thank you in advance for any insight or information anyone might have.
