I just found out I got a 76 first semester in Ap Calc BC. I love Brown, but I am crushed. Be honest, should I even consider/visit/apply to Brown? Btw 2240+ SAT, 12 AP classes by graduation, ~3.75 GPA, decent ECs. Is it time to reevaluate?

Getting a lone C will certainly work against you, but if your class rank is still in the top 10% and your ECs show strong leadership and self-initiative, you might still have a chance. Brown is particularly concerned with fit – those who don’t need a lot of handholding and can do well under the freedom of the Open Curriculum.

Even if you only have a small chance of getting in, your chance will be zero if you don’t apply at all. Good luck!

Thanks, I will most likely be in the top 10% and I think Brown would see me as a good fit
