CC'ers! When are you arriving?

I'm arriving on the 4th

Ah, well then I wouldn't be able to anyways. Problem solved! I definitely think an NYC excursion is in order. If anyone else gets in that evening, we should definitely have some pre-Princeton fun :D

That would be awesome, but there is the question of transportation...

Well, there is the train...or a shuttle. I'm using one or the other to get to Pton, anyways.

Duuuude! You HAVE to call me if you'e coming to new york. I will totally meet up with you guys and yell at you for looking touristy--I mean, show you around and all :)

NJ Transit is super-easy. It's like $11 roundtrip and the trains run pretty much all the time. I'll even pick you up from Penn Station

Zan - NYer

which is the best way to connect bewteen Penn and La guradia?
Thanks

The cheapest way would be to take a bus (M60) to 125th street and Lenox and transfer to the 2 train to Penn station. That will cost you a total of.... $2! :)

Or, you can take a taxi, or a shuttle...
there is a bus that goes to Penn station for about $10 (probably faster than the first method)

Hey guys!! I have not posted in awhile because I've been stuck in the Facebook. Anyway, it is a possibility that I too will be arriving on the 2nd but it is not definite. The doctor at UHS said she could arrange it but I'm in Holder and Holder might not be ready yet. If I don't come on the 2nd I will definitely be there the next morning for OA. If you guys do indeed go to NY, let me know!! I'm in southern CT, very close to NY. It's a 2 hour drive (supposedly) but I've gotten to NY in 40 minutes before... and, oh yeah, we didn't do the speed limit! devilish smirk

Yes yes, everyone should meet up in nyc :)

My dad got his master's at the U of Bridgeport...I don't remember it being a 2 hour drive but 40 minutes is amazing! haha

Yeah it can be a 2 hour drive on an amazingly slow school bus or coach bus. The 40 minutes was a surprise. I had to get to JFK for a flight to DC and we were running late. Let's just say that a seatbelt was DEFINITELY required for this trip. Do you guys have any ideas yet what you want to do? The only problem I have to work on right now is transportation because, depending on the time, my Dad may be at work.

Take the MetroNorth?
I think the plans are extremely tentative right now. But does it matter what we do? It's the people that make it fun, right? :p

That's right Zante! Yeah I was thinking the Metro but are you guys talking about a day or night trip? I'll admit that I'm a little hesitant (scared) about taking the train by myself. I'm so used to being with other people when I travel. I'll get back to you guys after I talk to my Dad. By the way, have any of you guys ever gone Go-Karting?

Yes, in Six Flags, I think...
is there a Go-Karting place you're familiar with in nyc?
I would love to do that, or other fun things like paintball, which I've never done before.

The MetroNorth is pretty safe though (safer than regular subway); you're a big girl now :)

3rd or 4th for me....thats 3 days early, i will have to stay in a hotel, they won't allow me to spend 3 nights in my room i suppose.

Is everybody going to NYC? Can I come???

I have the official OK from Aludaughter to issue an invitation. We will be in NYC Friday night. I am happy to take the crew to dinner somewhere. We are going to see Fiddler on the Roof, so it would have to be early (I know, old fashioned, we are seeing Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf Thursday. we like theater...). Or, if you all decide some other course of action, please let me know and I will drop Aludaughter off whereever you are before or after we see the show. And I suppose, being the mom that I am, if anyone needs to be picked up and taken to to the train station or the bus station late at night I will do that for you so you don't have to deal with scary subways if that helps. We have a car. Probably a big car given the AluD luggage that is piling up here:)

Of course, if no one musters for this, AluD and I will just see NY on our own and visit Zante...

:D waves welcome flag
Everyone come to New York!

DUDES, ill drive you all from pton up to NYC, lol!

09ers working together, isn't this cute :p

I'm almost certain I'll be having dinner in NYC that night since my plane gets in around 5. Yes, I'll be the idiot dragging and tripping over his overloaded bags and OA crap down the street. Meh. There should definitely be a meet-up, though :)
