So now that everything (plane tickets, shuttle info, etc.) has been finalized (for me, anyways), when are y'all getting on campus? I'm arriving on the 2nd and will be spending the night in town, so I was wondering if I'm the only one arriving early. If not, we should get together and do something. I'm pretty Princeton-stupid when it comes to the town, heh.

I think I'm going to arrive on the 10th. No OA and no night in the town for me (we'll have plenty of that later I hope). Hey Phil...you should spend that night in New York ;) hehe

I really want to spend like the evening or something in NYC! But I don't know if I'd be able to get back to Pton in time to get my money's worth for the hotel (i.e. not showing up at like 2 a.m., hah). Anyways, yay for early arrivers!

Wait, how can you spend the night in the dorm room? I thought we didn't get keys or anything until we checked in on the morning of the 3rd...I swear, if I spent moolah on a freakin' hotel room when I can flippin' stay in my dorm room...gnaws on appendages NOOO NOT FAAIIRRRR!

Maybe you should call pton up. It makes sense to let you guys stay in your dorms that night, since most people are probably getting there the day before.

Well yeah, but then it'd be a pretty much neverending cycle of getting-there-the-day-before-you-have-to. According to the OA site, "You should arrive at Baker Rink Saturday, September 3. The Undergraduate Housing Office (see map) will be open from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM on Saturday, September 3 for you to sign your housing contract and pick up your room key. Outdoor Action will have a table at Baker Rink with information about your trip assignment and where to meet your group at Check-in (see below)."

So that made me think we can't pick up our keys until then because we have forms to sign and things to turn in, as well as OA info to pick up once we sign in. I dunno, maybe not. And cancelling hotel reservations and getting a refund aren't all that common, at least not in my experience. We'll see.

I believe we're clearly not allowed to stay in our rooms any time before the 3rd (if we're on OA). However, there 's a part of the letter talking about "special arrival needs such as students flying in from the West Coast." Who knows?

I'm arriving on August 30th or September 1st (depending on when my 8-hour flight leaves) and staying with relatives in New Jersey (about 40 minutes away). These are not fun relatives. Someone help me.

ETA: I'm arriving early because 6-hour jet lag + camping = not good.

Ooh, I think you're only allowed to actually get the keys to your dorm Sept 2nd if you're flying in from West Coast or from another country. They're pretty strict about that according to all thse warnings on the letter which said somethign about names being on a list and no one else beign allowed into their rooms. You call to get your name on the list (the lady's really nice : )) if you think you're coming in from far West enough.
