Just straight acting. While he has a great voice and has done a lot of community theatre musicals, his love is acting. He hopes to continue with voice lessons at CCM, but is aware of the limited availability of faculty to non musical/voice majors.

actorsdad - congrats to your son! it's possible we will end up classmates next year. and yeah, you can take voice and/or dance as a sophomore acting major at CCM. has he already auditioned for juilliard?

audition for Julliard is February 4th. Thanks for the info on Dance and voice. Did you already audition for CCM? If not, maybe my son can give you his impresion of the audition process at CCM. Good luck

I was accepted early to CCM drama at the National Thespian Conference last June, but I'm still auditioning for several musical theatre programs, and Juilliard also, but I'm auditioning for Juilliard at the Unifieds in Chicago. Good luck to him!

Good luck to you. You must be very talented to be accepted that early. What MT programs are you auditioning for?

Wright State, Webster, CCM, CMU, UM and hopefully a drop in at the Unifieds :)

Did anybody see Floyd Collins or Crazy for You at CCM?

aspiring, which unifieds?

All at Chicago except I am doing UM at Ann Arbor a week from today. It's so soon...

I just wanted to help calm and "non-dancer" nerves because I was recently accepted into the CCM MT program and I have practically 0 dance training. They seem like they 're really dance intensive but I think personality wins over all. I made them laugh during my audition which surprised me and I think clenched it.

UPDATE: They accepted a male-heavy class this year of 21 people.

Just keeping everyone posted!

Matt

I'm assuming all you could know at this point is that they offered admission to 21 students. How many choose to accept the offer remains to be seen, yes?

Do you know if they will use a waitlist this year?

Absolutely that remains to be seen! There are many amazing programs out there and each will choose their right path. I know some people who have been waitlisted and so I hope that some lucky people get a chance to get off the waitlist! Keeping fingers and toes crossed, good luck everyone!

Yep, there's a wait list . . . I'm on it! Haha! From what I hear it's VERY short and it's the first year that they've had one.

I'm pullin' for ya, mboi! :) YOU ROCK!!!!!!

well I can act, sing, and dance all very well! But i'm not a dancer dancer....normally i just pick up onto things really fast....and i've worked with show choirs and pro choreographers as training. But how hard is the dance combos they teach normally?

I want to go to this school so bad..lol..
