<p>Local calls are free. I believe students just have to sign up for a code number to use the college’s long distance service, for which they’re then billed–they don’t sign up directly with a phone company. Or they can make long distance calls for free by signing up for a Google Voice account (<a href=“http://www.google.com/voice[/url]”>http://www.google.com/voice</a> ).</p>
<p>Does anyone have recent experience with Sprint’s cell phone service at Oberlin? Thinking of switching from Verizon because much less expensive for a family of smart phones, but unclear how good the service is in Oberlin.</p>

<p>Not sure how recent this is – but if it is out of date, I’d assume that coverage has gotten better, not worse.</p>
<p>Update–a friend of mine with AT&T just mentioned that he received a letter telling him that AT&T had upgraded their service here, and he says his coverage is now much improved.</p>
<p>Yes, daughter has ATT, used all year her freshman year, no issues! But we live in VT where ANY cell phone coverage is much appreciated thank you!</p>
