What kind of reception do the cell carriers get at FSU. We currently have ATT but are considering changing. Hated to go to someone with little coverage.

i have ATT as well, and both times I was there I had excellent coverage. there might be a few small areas where you get less reception, but for the most part it was fine.

My son uses AT&T in Tally as well - no problem.

We use Sprint and it works well in Tallahassee and surrounding areas.

Verizon and Alltel also work well in the area.

Alltel, Sprint and Verizon all roam onto each others networks.

D is there now with great ATT covereage. With unlimited calls to all ATT home and cell phones on any plan, the family plan with shared minutes, the shared family text plan (I have 2 teenage girls who text ALOT) I haven't been able to beat what we pay.

My freshman year, I had a prepaid cell phone. Not the best reception in my residence hall (but I did live on the bottom floor [eye-level with street], so that may have to do with it; the reception tended to work better on higher floors), but worked well everywhere else.

The last 2 years, I've been with AT&T. Again, I had the same concern with my new residence hall (was on the first floor of a 5-story building; again, the reception worked better on higher floors/around the building), but no complaints beyond that.

Freshman year I had T-Mobile and had no problems with service at all except for a dead spot in my dorm's laundry room. We switched to AT&T last year, and the service performed equally well. Both companies provided great coverage both on campus and around Tallahassee.

We switched from T-Mobile to ATT last year becuse my daughter could not get reception in J. Murphry. Worked out great.

Verizon has spotty coverage on campus in buildings, especially Gilchrist on the east side of campus, but also on west side of campus, even into the residential areas. Dropped and missed incoming, mostly. My son used to have to go outside to talk on his cell phone. He finally had to change his voice mail greeting to say to 'please leave a message because he didn't always know who called via caller ID.'

AT&T works great in Gilchrist and everywhere else on the campus I've tried. I get full 3G with 5 bars in my dorm.

around the city everyone major provider is good. But from my experience on campus, especially around the dorms, Verizon's coverage is spotty while AT&T's is great.

So far AT&T is the overwhelming favorite...

My d lives in Landis and is using Verizon. We have had great reception and no problems so far.
