I was just reminded of something, and felt the need to share. A little over a year ago I had a dispute over a large Cell Phone Bill my youngest daughter had created. Frustrated with our carriers response we changed providers. The first semester it seemed to work OK, but in January my daughter changed rooms. The commercial that shows the man on top of the file cabinet with a leg reaching out the window for reception is not far from true. Our current provider Sxxxxt hasn’t been what I expected. My coworkers and friends have urged a switch. My daughter would love an I-phone and I have heard their service is better. Current plan wont expire for another year, but we may have to breakdown and get the little cadet a new plan of her own.

NOT Verizon!
I have to deal with the whole "don't move in the chair, once you've found reception" deal.

I just leave my blackberry by the window and roam around while on a headset. Not ideal, but it works. :)

I have an iphone and while i was up there i managed to get service almost everywhere i went... that includes the rooms and classes. Service was down to one bar in some places but i was still recieving texts and emails so i'd say it works alright.

I've never had trouble with AT&T. Then again, that might just be because I'm in Sijan. Vandie might be different.

there was one room i had trouble with on the third floor. Had to be right by the window to get some sort of service. This room I'm in now has no trouble at all. I have verizon. Hopefully it works out next year.

Potter called me from the stairwell a couple of weeks ago excited she had discovered the secret. By going ot the stairwell she gets 4+ bars, but since the stairwell isn't heated, and everyone is passing by she might as well be on a payphone.

Our son is in Vandy and we have AT & ??. He has never had any problem with reception. The best part is that he hits an AT & ?? tower 99% of the time, which means he can stay on our family plan (from Wisconsin) for only $9.95/month, and share our unlimited minutes and unlimited texts. According to our AT & ?? rep, as long as no more than 25% of the family plan calls originate on a tower other than AT & ??'s, he can stay on our plan.

On our first bill after recognition, he had racked up 1400 minutes and 10,600 texts in one month, so the $9.95 is a real bargain!
