Eh, Houston's a major city - I don't know of anyone who really has problems getting reception anywhere around here. I'd go with whatever company has a plan that you like most. (I have Verizon, have never been unable to make a call due to lack of reception (excluding one or two basements on campus) and have never had a dropped call.)

S has AT&T and hasn't had any complaints other than that his coverage drops while he's in the elevator.

T-mobile works fine too.

and I've had no problems with Sprint (just thought i'd add the last provider!)

like thelonius said, it's pretty much just your preference.

I have T-Mobile and I successfully made a phone call from inside the elevator at Sid Rich during Owl Day. I've been to Houston quite a few times, and I've never had a signal problem.

AT&T works perfect.

Father works at Rice in the IT department. He says that Sprint works best on campus, but most services will work most places (the place to test to see if your provider is really good is right outside of the Cohen House).

As far as signal throughout Houston, I agree with previous posters - whichever you like best. And don't think that Sprint has that huge of an advantage.
