Cell phones

What cell phone carriers work best in Athens? I've never had a cell phone but I'm looking into getting one for college, hopefully soon, and I was wondering basically what I should avoid. My parents have Tmobile and are kind of pressuring me to go along with their family plan, but I really don't want to because then I'd be sharing only 400 minutes with my family on the other side of the country. How are Tmobile, Verizon, Cingular, and Sprint's coverage at OU?

Most people have told me that cingular works fine, T-Mobile as well. Coverage is surprisingly good in Athens for most networks.

i had cingular over the summer and it worked fine... i have T-mobile now and i havent heard much about it. I suspect there will be a few places that most networks wont work considering OU's proximity to mountains

Thanks. Yeah, I've been looking at plans and I like Cingular's the best (rollover minutes=good thing). Plus, all my friends, at least here in high school, seem to have Cingular too, so I think that means I can talk to them for free.

Yeah - Cingular is awesome.
