Century Scholars Question!

Century is a benefit sometimes. It definitely works you with a steep learning curve.

My mentor had me sign up for his 600 level course. It was intense at first.

They can give you a lot of opportunity if you have the right professor. If you dislike your professor you can easily change. CS professors and bio professors are the most likely to have scholars because they don't require the technical knowledge that something like elec might need.

Some people I know have no work.

Some people have lots of work.

You'll figure it out. Take the picking mentor with a grain of salt. You are most likely not to get the mentor you picked. The list on the century scholar website hasn't really been updated and the work you'll do is probably not related to the summary. The work that it lists for my professor is not related to anything we do currently. The stuff has been shelved for a few years.

I saw a course labeled “century scholar” in the catalog. Can a century scholar sign up for this and if he/she finds a mentor, do independent research for a credit and grade (or even P/F)?
