So I checked my status online today and found out that I got in! Like many of you have, so congratulations to everyone! There was nothing online about scholarships or anything, namely the Century Scholars program which I am extremely interesting in/hoping for. Will that stuff come in a letter or later?

If I am not mistaken, that would come in the same package as your admission decision via snail mail.

S received notification of Century Scholar and scholarship in snail mail today; we live in Houston.

My son received a package today with his admission decision letter and fin aid/merit scholarship info, including Century Scholar and Trustee Distinguished scholarship.

Congratulations!!!

Congrats Navidad & erisamom

Are these scholarships awarded to students who applied need based fin aid OR are they merit based ?

They're both merit based-- my son was awarded both last year.

The scholarships are merit based and there are various one.. Trustee, Trustee Distinguished, Babra Jordan, engineering and two for high acheiving international students.. I received the Barbara Jordan scholarship ( $15,301 * 4 years) and it came in my packet. I live in Houston, so that is why I received my packet today.

I won the Edgar Odell Lovett scholarship, which is half tuition for 4 years. It's the one for internationals. Any idea how many of each scholarship they send out?

Awesome job guys!!
I hope to get one, but I live in NJ and will have to wait for my packet.

Century scholar AND full tuition engineering! I'm so stoked...this is DEFINITELY influencing my decision.

Major congrats to you guys.

Merit based on our end.

How many Trustee scholarships are given out each year?

OMG! I got the Trustee Distinguished Scholarship!!! $20,000 a year!!!! Yeeeeeeeee!!!!

I am elated!!! :D

Well, crap.

I got a likely letter about a month ago, yet still no merit money at all for me.

I figured that a likely letter probably equaled merit money, but I guess I was wrong!

Well, boo. =[

No merit scholarship at all...just loans and work-study.

I guess Rice is out of the running for "school I'll be going to." Haha, oh well, at least Northwestern gave me a ridiculous scholarship.

Did anybody get trustee, century scholars, and the engineering scholarships?

I got trustee and century scholars and I'm kinda regretting not putting engineering as my first choice college, seeing that they give full-tuition rides. (I might want to do engineering - I'm just really undecided. I put the school of natural sciences in my app, and I didn't find out about the engineering merit scholarships until later.) whyy am i so dumbb.

And for the engineering scholarship, are you required to stay in the engineering school to keep the scholarship?

are the trustee scholarships the same amount for everyone [20k/year]? Cause on their website it seemed to indicate that it varies.

I got full ride engineering and I'm only required to maintain a 3.0 for all four years...and yes, you're required to stay in engineering. Didn't mention anything about double-majoring, though, which I think is an important point...

I still haven't gotten my mail yet :( and I live in California, too! If I don't get any merit, Rice is out of the picture...(I'm international, so no finaid for me :/)

But I <3 Rice!
