My daughter is interested in majoring in biology or chemistry but would also like to take ceramics classes. Is it possible to take ceramics classes as a non-art major?
I’ve never taken any art classes myself, but I know that there’s only one or two art classes open to non-majors, and I’m pretty sure it’s a drawing class. I don’t even know if there are any ceramics classes offered, I just checked SPIRE (where you sign up for classes) and I didn’t find any that were just ceramics. I would recommend looking into the Craft Center, which is in the bottom of the Student Union, and open to anyone. I don’t think they have ceramics, but if your daughter is interested in other types of arts and crafts, they have great materials and workshops.
Thanks for the info.
I’d also look at the other consortium schools, maybe Hampshire?
