CERN Internship Help

hey everyone !

so my name’s sarika, and i’m a junior from ontario, canada.
Im really interested in particle physics and astrophysics, and this summer, I was hoping to do an intership or course somewhere on one of those topics. I had a family friend who did an internship at CERN in Switzerland last year or the year before, and so after becoming interested, I looked at the website, but couldn’t find ANY internships for high school students, or people my age.

a little bit confused, I decided to email recruitment at CERN, and surprisingly they told me that they DID offer internships of the sort! they invited me to apply by handing in a CV and motivation letter

im a bit worried though, because I know that the undergrad internship is extremely competitive, but I have NO idea about this apparent high school one. I also have no idea about the kind of program it is. does anyone have any insight, or can offer their experiences as a high school intern at CERN?

thank you in advance, and happy new year!!
