Well your course load will be nice. You will want to try and boost your GPA and for sure re-take the SAT. Also, BC requires you take and submit two SAT II scores, so take them in your best subjects. Your EC’s are nice, however you might want to try and get some volunteer work or add some community based ones. I’m not too great at giving an idea for chances, but you have a good start, you just need to polish up your resume. Right now I’d say you are a stretch, but you can definitely better your chances by boosting your GPA, SAT, and adding more EC’s.

Oh i forgot im a member of an organization which makes activities for under privileged kids like recreation and stuff and have gone to many events and yes aim taking 2 sat subject tests probably math 1 or 2 and literature

Even if you’re a Native American, that SAT score is a stretch. I say you need at least 100+ points on the CR and Math to be in the competitive range.

Reach. Low SAT and Low GPA for BC.

Dear jnd3344 : Being quite honest, I am completely confused by your SAT performance relative to your course load. For example, how is it possible to score a 560 on Math while you are now attempting to take a Calculus AP (whether AB or BC) curriculum? The algebraic manipulations in limits and differentiation will press you beyond where a 560 could typically take you. Next, how can you be involved in a writing intensive English AP curriculum with a 480 in critical reading and a 470 in writing? While language skills might explain part of this disparity, the gap in your board scores versus your intended senior year curriculum is tremendous.

Additionally, your GPA is quite low for BC. Your extra curriculars are limited compared to many others applying to BC - in particular, are there any honor societies in your background?

In short, Boston College is a huge stretch with these scores - your numbers are below the bottom quartile at this point which indicates that Boston College might be too difficult for you given the language skills issue you have mentioned.
