Ok, I don't consider myself "dumb," but I certainly feel that way compared to most of the people on here lol. But anyway, this is my first post on this forum, although I have been a lurker for quite some time. I want to know what you think my chances are for a list of several schools. So here it goes...

-I'm homeschooled/dual enrolled.
-I'll be a senior this fall.
-1200 SAT, 580 math and 620 reading (I've taken it once, and I'm taking it again soon).
- 25 ACT, 22 math, 22 science, 30 reading, 27 english (I've also taken this once, and I'll take it again).
-High school GPA: 3.9...something
-Weighted high school GPA: 4.5ish

Here is the list of college courses I've taken:
-English comp I and II
-College Algebra
-Pre-Calculus
-Latin I and II
-Criminal Justice
-Computer Concepts
-Elements of Nutrition
-American History to 1800
-American History from 1800
-European History to 1700
-Physical Geology + Lab
-Logic
-The Legal Profession
-Philosophy of Religion
I'll be taking these courses this fall:
-Public Speaking
-Contemporary Literature
-Torts
-Constitutional Law

When I'm done with those in December, I will have my Associate of Arts in Pre-Law.
-College GPA: 3.85

Extra Circulars:
-3 years varsity basketball, team captain this year (I play sports for a local high school team in case you're wondering).
-2 years varsity cross country
-1 year varsity soccer (this coming fall).
-SGA Treasurer, President, Vice President, and President again this year.
-I tutor one 3rd grader per-year at a local elementary school through a state run program called Teen Trend Setters.
-I took 3rd place in a national mock trial competition.
-Was elected "Governor" of Florida at a state-wide government class/camp (kindof like 4-H Legislature).
-And plenty of other stuff, but those are the major ones.

And finally, here is the list of colleges:

Florida State University
University of Florida
University of Alabama
Southern Methodist University
American University
University of Minnesota
Baylor University
Pepperdine University
University of Texas

amazing gpa and ... low Standardized. Get better scores on the sat/act (100 pts up SAT or 2 pts up ACT) and i would say match/strong match for all of the above, cause ecs are good, gpa good, and awards are really good.

^ if you can't i would say low low reach for minnesota pepperdine and university of florida. Other than that, i would say your definitely in at all the others with your scores. Im also not too sure about southern methodist university (as in i don't know much about this school). If i were you, i would aim a tad bit higher. you seem to underestimate your abilities

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I'm confident that I'll do better on the SAT, hopefully a 1300. The advantage I have with FSU and UF is that transfer students from community college's in state have priority with acceptance. And a 3.85 (hopefully 3.9 when I graduate) is pretty good for transfers. But with budget cuts and all...who knows.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I've had a part time job for the past year.

interesting combinating of EC's. not too often that you see a straight-gay alliance president who also plays varsity basketball and cross country and is the "governor" of florida. i would say you should get into all of those schools, and would suggest that maybe you pick a more selective school as a reach, because if you retake the SAT and do better, you can look into a much higher tier of schools

Thanks for the input guys. Why do you think I have no chance at UT? It is no more selective than most of the other schools on my list, and I'm within the average SAT/ACT/GPA range.... Maybe because I'm out of state?

Ok, so lets say that I do hit my goal on the SAT with a 1300... Then what kind of reach school(s) would you suggest?

UT is more of a state school, if you're in state it's insanely easy to get into (for CC people). If you're not in state than it can be kind of difficult.

I think you have a good chance at UT ( I live in austin btw) don't expect any financial aid from UT though they're very stingy with it.. Wouldn't give my step brother who has amazing EC's and a good GPA with all Ap's any.

Question how did you do track and soccer if you're home schooled?

i agree with the comments that if you can get your standardized test scores up, you should have a GREAT chance at all of those schools...good luck!

When I was checking admission criteria for some schools, I saw one college saying that they do not accept students who have certain numbers of units from other college. Therefore, I am not sure if this will hurt you as a freshman or not. I suggest you to talk to schools about their admission policy. You may qualify as a transfer.

Most of the colleges that I've talked to would still have me apply as a freshman, but they would give my transfer side of the application equal weight. And some schools (Pepperdine) won't even need my SAT scores because I have more than 30 college credits. However, they'll still look at my high school transcript.

To answer the question about sports... In Florida, home schoolers are allowed to play (or at least try out) in high school sports. So I play for a local private school agaisnt every other high schooler in Pensacola. To give you a famous example: Tim Tebow, recent Hiesman Trophy winner from UF, was a home schooler who played football at a local high school until he graduated.
