Chance a genius

For the record, this is my friend. No, this is not a joke.

-4.0 GPA - All honors/AP's

-2390/1600 SAT

-National Merit Finalist

-School swim team

-New Jersey Youth Symphony, first chair flute player

-Came in second in the National Brain Bee

-This summer he was chosen to be on the four-person United States team for the International Chemistry Olympiad, which is a competition between over 70 countries. The US team did very well and he was the only person on the team to be awarded a gold medal. He is the first person in seven years to receive a gold medal in the competition from the united states.

Those are his major awards/EC's.

I tell him every single school in America is a safety, given his credentials, but he's modest and says he's not sure. He wants to go to Harvard.

Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Stanford
MIT
Caltech
UPenn
Dartmouth
Brown

What's CC's opinion?

Yeah those schools are not safeties for anyone.

He’s got great ECs and the scores are obviously outstanding. Harvard is by no stretch a safety, but he has great chances.

Really? Even given his credentials?

Edit: that was a response to flipper.

He’s got excellent credentials but those are not safeties for him. HYPSMC reject many people even though they are extremely qualified and have outstanding extracurriculars such as your friend.

Penn ED and you are IN! If not try Harvard, Princeton, Yale RD.

Your friend is Yixiao Wang?

^ LOL
That someone can actually find out who this person is just from the brief data which you provided is impressive on your friend’s part.
That is, of course, if he is right.

lol. indeed.

Yea he is in. I don’t care whether those schools are safeties or not, it doesn’t really matter because he is going to be accepted.

where in New jersey?

Yes, that’s him.
